"Thai Art: Early Rattanakosin period, 19th Century: Important 22k Golden Jewelry Presentation Box gifted from King Chulalongkorn to Prince Montenuovo during the Prince's official vist to Bangkok in 1877. Crafted with flora vine scrolls pattern with the Crown ontop, center window enamelled in balck text 5 lines “FROM HIS MAKESTY / CHULALONGKORN I, KING OF SIAM / TO / HIS HIGHESS PRINCE ALFRED MONTENUOVO / BANGKOK FEBRUARY 1877”, total weight = 445gms, W.=7.5cm., L.=14.4cm., H.=3cm., beautiful craftmanship, almost untouched and extremely well preserved. XRF tested for gold on 3 diff spots and averaging at 94%. UNIQUE. (1) Note: Alfred, 2nd Prince of Montenuovo was one of the highest court officials of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria. Among his ancestors were members of the House of Habsburg and the Medici family. His paternal grandmother Marie Louise was the Empress consort of Napoleon I of France."
